tell me this isn’t cute. apparently the story behind these cuties are the designer, marilyn, and her fiance are both foodies, she loves baking cupcakes and he is a pastry chef at nobu. put two and two together and you have awesomeness. i’d steal this idea if i could.

i saw this on idiy.com today and just fell in love with their creativity. bonus points for reminding me of me and the boy. always nice to see another ldr end happily ever after.

and can i say, man, what a difference a year or so makes. seriously. it’s almost like looking back at pictures of you in high school [which, thanks to a friend on facebook, i get that lovely opportunity]; it’s not too bad but you wonder what you were thinking.

oh so the pictures. once upon a time i had a completely different version of the weddening going on, one i like to refer to as weddening 1.0. the theme [when i believed weddings needed themes] was something along the lines of “movie love” because one of my friends said the boy and i had that kind of love. anywho, let’s just say i’m glad i graduated from that hot mess. with a theme like that, you can either hit it out the park [a la a vintage hollywood type glamour] or miss completely and look like you’re the head of your senior class prom decorating committee.

needless to say i may have been the president of that committee.

i think if i were able to edit some of my initial inspirations and maybe changed the focus a little bit it could have worked but i ended up quickly abandoning the idea after the boy expressed surprise that i wasn’t going with my favorite color.

anywho, the thing that struck me [besides the fact that i wanted stargazers in my bouquet – i mean, could i have picked a more fragrant flower?] were the invitations. and how boring they are to me now.

i don’t remember what exactly appealed to me but it must have been something because i had three different pictures. and one of them even includes the fashionable tulle ribbon that i’ve since developed an irrational dislike of. i seriously think i overdosed on tulle after helping to decorate for a wedding and encountering an unholy amount of it, but that is neither here nor there.

i’ll keep searching to see if there are any other pictures from the ill-fated weddingpromextravaganza that i can share. and just like high school, i’m already kind of embarrassed to share.
