i ran into a slight roadblock with the tissue pomander garlands i want to create.
it’s kind of hard to unfluff a tiny pomander. seriously. even when you cut notches into the sides, it’s still tough. and time consuming. and as i was slowly unfluffing a pomander, i thought, do i really want to do this? fifty-eleven million times over? because i had thought of lining both sides of the aisle and possibly wrapping some around the arch i want to build and maybe have a few strands hanging down the back.
but not if it takes forever to make just one! that and i’d have to hole punch each one so i can thread the string through, never mind the fact that the hole later gets lost once you unfluff the whole thing. so i need to rethink that strategy.
i will at least need to devise a new and clever way of making pomander type of fluff. i’m open to suggestions.
there’s always using small styrofoam balls or paper lanterns and sticking tissue paper or cupcake liners on to them.
like these:

the cupcake liners do add a really cool dimension to them. perchance someone will be stopping by michael’s tonight?
perchance.
if i end up using styrofoam, i’ll have to figure out a way to make sure i don’t lose the thread hole.
i’m so glad i have time on my side to sort all of these little details out!
No practical help I’m afraid. More like moral support!
P.S. New to your blog – can’t wait to hear more!
I love the cupcake liners. And they come in so many different colors and designs. Sucks that the pomanders idea isn’t working out … but DIY projects should only take so long … it’s not worth it if it takes it all out of you!
And thanks for the save the date standpoint … well put and advised!
sorry for the double comment …but just wanted to know I showed ya some love on my bloggityblogblogblog!
